Kung Fu Panda 4 (2024)

“Money can’t buy happiness but it can buy a lot of dumplings”

Kung Fu Panda 4 leaps back into the martial arts world with all the charm and humour we've come to expect from the franchise, but unfortunately, this entry falls a bit short of its previous films in the series. While it's great to see Po back in action, the storyline feels somewhat recycled, lacking the fresh spark that made the earlier films so delightful. In this film, Po faces a new villain, the Chameleon, who threatens the Valley of Peace, by conjuring the villains from the past.

That being said, Kung Fu Panda 4 still delivers on the humour and heart that we all have come to love. The characters are as endearing as ever, and the voice cast, led by Jack Black, continues to bring them to life with the trademark wit and charm. The animation is also top-notch, with vibrant visuals and action sequences that pop off the screen, making for an entertaining viewing experience despite the film's shortcomings.

But, the film doesn’t reach the heights of its predecessors and feels underwhelming, to say the least. While it may not break new ground or leave a lasting impression like the previous films in the series, it's a serviceable addition to the franchise that will satisfy those looking for a lighthearted romp through the world of kung fu and friendship.

TSHC Score: 5/10

The best thing from the movie though:
