Alan Wake Remastered

After Remedy Entertainment announced the release date of the long-awaited Alan Wake 2, we decided to go back and revisit the classic but in its remastered release.

Alan Wake Remastered is a thrilling and engaging game that follows the story of Alan Wake, a best-selling thriller novelist who tries to uncover the mystery behind his wife's disappearance during a vacation in the small fictional town of Bright Falls, Washington. The game is filled with twists and turns that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

As Alan Wake (2010) was only released on Xbox consoles, it did not receive the reception of the players as expected. Even to this day, not a lot of players know about this game but the newly launched Remastered version is releasing on all platforms, hoping to increase its visibility/playability.

The game's graphics are stunning, and the remastered version has greatly improved the overall gameplay experience. The sound design is also impressive, adding to the overall eerie and suspenseful atmosphere of the game.

One of the game's highlights is its story, which is both intriguing and captivating. It's a story that pulls you in and keeps you invested until the very end. The characters, too, are well-developed, and you feel invested in their stories and motivations.

However, the game can be a bit repetitive at times, particularly during combat, which can feel like it drags on. But this is a minor issue compared to the game's strengths. The story and characters are so compelling that you're likely to overlook the occasional repetitive moment.

I always loved the take of Remedy’s cinematic approach in their games, especially when combining the game with a live-action sequence for the story. And now they are building their own connected universe, as shown in Control, I am very much eager to see what Alan Wake 2 unfolds next!

TSHC SCORE: 8.5/10

CONCLUSION:

Alan Wake Remastered is a must-play for fans of the thriller and horror genres, and the remastered version is a great improvement on the original. With its gripping story, stunning visuals, and impressive sound design, it's a game that's sure to keep you engaged and entertained from start to finish.
