Star Wars Jedi: Survivor

PLAYED ON: PC via Steam

(Non-Spoiler Review)

Being a Star Wars fan, as well as a fan of Single-Player Games, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor was one of my Anticipated Games of 2023. It is a sequel to 2019’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

As much as I loved the first game, the sequel improves upon it in every way.

And yes let me address the main issue of this game: its PC port. Even though I was very excited, I did not pre-order it like most of the players. The reason? We all can see how bad the game releases are these days. It is now very rare that a game is released without any issues, especially performance issues.

‘SW Jedi: Survivor’ was delayed from March 2023 to April 2023 but it did not have any improvement or impact on the game’s smooth release. Now moving on from the performance issues, here is my gameplay experience:

If I would need to describe the game in one word, then it would be ‘amazing’.

This, for me, is

One of the best Star Wars Games I’ve played till date or dare I say, the Best Star Wars Game of all time 👀

‘SW Jedi: Fallen Order’ was an impressive feat by Respawn (the game’s developers). The team showed that they could make more amazing single-player games (wink, wink, Titanfall 2) and they improved a lot of the elements and added new ones as well in ‘SW Jedi: Survivor’.

SYNOPSIS:

This narratively driven, single-player title picks up five years after the events of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and follows Cal’s increasingly desperate fight as the galaxy descends further into darkness. Pushed to the edges of the galaxy by the Empire, Cal will find himself surrounded by threats new and familiar. As one of the last surviving Jedi Knights, Cal is driven to make a stand during the galaxy’s darkest times — but how far is he willing to go to protect himself, his crew, and the legacy of the Jedi Order?

Without spoiling much, Jedi: Survivor is much bigger and bolder than its predecessor. There are more and bigger planets to visit, added with more side-missions (called rumors, here) and action-packed lightsaber adventures.

There are some really great sequences throughout the story which was very exciting to play. The previous cast returns in some segments but most of the time you are fighting the Empire and adventuring alone.

GAMEPLAY & CINEMATIC SCREENSHOTS:

TSHC SCORE: 9/10

CONCLUSION:

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an amazing game and a must-try for Star Wars fans. Even though the game’s release was one of the worst in 2023 due to its clunky performance, the story & gameplay did give a perfect example that single-player games are far from dead!
